Beyond The Reset
An animated short film that brilliantly depicts the bleak future our wannabe controllers believe we deserve
I’m working on a film project and an audio piece right now (well, I guess that’s hardly news) but I paused to watch this, and — wow, what amazing work from the artist, Oleg Kuznetsov — here, why don’t you just watch it:
One of the Youtube commenters echoed my thoughts:
I just want to say that this is both an excellent film and a deeply terrifying one. When the PLANdemic started, I really thought something like this was going to become our reality. The creator really nailed it. From the Klaus Schwabb [sic] character, to the eating of insects, for a while, this looked like the route we were headed down. At many points, the idea of giant quarantine camps, food rationing, mass surveillance, and just about everything else in this entered my mind and with that, I became anxious and paranoid NOT of a virus, but of being forced out of my home and away from my family. The thought of that scares me to death and even right now, as I type this, my heart is beating out of my chest and I'm holding back tears because we came so close to that. And I've never considered myself antigovernment or anything like that, but I knew in the back of my mind something wasn't right. It really clicked when my mom died of pneumonia and I wasn't allowed to see her in the hospital. So many people feel the way I do and one day, the ones responsible for that will get what they deserve. For now, we ALL need to realize that They don't care about you- all they want is control. The only way to fight it is through awareness and the BALLS to say something about it much like the creators of this film. If the goal of all art is to make the observer feel something, well let me say, I feel. I feel lied to, I feel cheated, and I still feel hurt. Thank you for sharing this art with us. I think more people need to see this. This isn't another paranoid perspective- it's a crystal fucking ball!
REMINDER: We don’t have to have this future. We can have a different one. With the power of our imagination, we can create any future we desire. Let’s write, draw, paint, film, sing a better one!
"The movie 1984 never existed" ... LOL!
The school-bus convoy was a nice touch. In Ontario, all things yellow submarine are inside The Education Act. Seriously, that's what it's called. Quarantine is part of The Education Act. That's some good lernin.
