MUSIC VIDEO: The Normal That is New
A short film for Rob MyJob's brilliant song set Rick's Farm as the bucolic locale for a dystopian future that is all too present
For a few months now I’ve been working on the video for a song that I fell in love with last year. That song is called The Normal That Is New. The tumbling happened in August right after I first performed it with Sane artist Rob MyJob, during his To Our World tour. I had just sung my heart out, and exclaimed:
RMJ, we must make a video for this song! I can just see it now: all our people at Rick’s Farm, dancing… and distancing whilst dancing.
You see, his song perfectly, sardonically, illustrated the deliberately-induced dystopia present in Our Times of Covid.
And now my lil’ movie is here…
Thank you to everybody — you know who you are — who came to the Line Eleven event in September for the making of! We love you so much for showing up, setting up and acting out, for generously supporting as cast and crew (sometimes both).
We especially love the children whose beautiful, sincere and open faces melt our hearts every time they appear on screen, inspiring us to keep on fighting the good fight.
The release of this video feels all the more poignant because this week we learned that Rick, who has been very sick since December finally took a significant turn for the better…
Love to the power of love, always!
Please do like and comment on the YouTube link pasted below and also feel free to share away!
You can also support RMJ by purchasing his great song here (today is Bandcamp First Friday which means that the artists get a bigger share of their sales).
Oh my gosh, it's so beautiful.
Amazing! Absolutely LOVE this. 🙏
