181 Reasons Why Kids Should Not Wear Face Masks
Shoutout to Allan Stevo and a couple of other writers
Yikes, it’s been almost a whole month since I last posted. I believe that’s the longest I’ve gone without publishing but I might be making it up to you if you watch out! These last few weeks I have been creating a bunch of videos, which was good for me because I tend to lose and simultaneously find myself in such work. I’ll be sharing some of them here soon.
Though I’ve not posted, I’ve been reading a lot —
(you guys, I have a Substack problem but it has nothing to do with Nazis; there’s just too many good writers on this platform)
— which always propels me to want to give a shout-out to several Substackers whose work I particularly appreciate. In the case of a few — like the main one of today — it is long overdue.
Also, it’s Valentine’s Day today. Valentine rhymes with Palestine, one place in the world right now where the continuing spectacle of death and devastation has become so massive that most minds can’t even fathom the scale of the tragedy. I’m sure many can’t deal and/or have become inured to the images. But I continue to watch. I feel helpless and sickened and I pray ceasefire comes soon. On this day, and for the last four months, my heart breaks and especially for the innocent children.
For those who want to hear an intelligent and heartfelt take on what is going on there, please listen to this conversation between two artist friends of mine, Tessa Lena and Kevin Nathaniel. Here’s an extract, which I edited for brevity:
“This genocide campaign must be stopped… This is not just against one people. This is a finger shaking at everyone on the planet. This is what can happen if we want your land. When I say “We,” I’m talking about major corporations because a lot of people think this is a fight between Israelis and Arabs. No, that’s not what it is. That is what they dress it up to be. This current genocide is not a war between ethnic groups and religions. This is a battle by these huge corporations to gain control of the resources in that region.”
Speaking of children and reflecting on issues that are closer to home, since we are observing an uptick of mask-wearing these last few months here in the Bay Area (likely due to the headlines about a new (yes, it’s another novel one which will no doubt have some of us writing novels) Disease X which is apparently heading our way, according to the tragedy planners fearporn experts), today is a good day to send love to one particular Substack writer who, has written a book on behalf of their physical, mental and emotional health.
First, let’s open with a relevant song
When I see a child with a mask on her face
Makes me unsure about the whole human race~ Rob MyJob
I remember, almost two years ago, when I was in the middle of making the above video (which, incidentally, contains a few fleeting cameos of yours truly together with many other Sane Franciscans), and I needed to film some extra scenes with RMJ. We were out and about in my 'hood, and he happened to notice the flashing signs on the fronts of buses informing us that masks were no longer required on the Muni (SF’s overground and underground public transport system). Rob jokingly urged me to finish the video soon so that we could release it before people stopped wearing masks altogether, else his song might become irrelevant. I reassured him that it would be a great problem to have but that unfortunately I didn’t think masks would be disappearing anytime soon as people had become too attached to them.
Sadly, I was right. The brainwashing had been carried out relentlessly for months in 2020 — a few months, that’s all it took — and it is now wedged deep within the psyches of many.
Follow the science (unless it clashes with your addiction)
Even though all the scientific evidence clearly points to them not being useful at all and in many cases harmful (see below), the masses have been conditioned to don them at the mere drop of a scary headline. No point in trusting the science when addiction overrides logic.
Those of us who have been observing the mask madness, together with all the many other forms of madness, since Day 1, could see that, once mask-wearing was established as a “normal” health and safety practice, it would be hard to convince our previously open-faced friends to ever let them go. Either their fear had become ingrained or the virtue signaling had become a lifestyle expression. (I don’t believe both reasons exist simultaneously, unless you consider the fact that there are many who are fearful about not being considered a good person).
Thus sadly, almost four years later, we continue to see masks on their faces and masks on the ground. RMJ’s song still needs to be heard and I continue to wear lipstick.
And still, of course, there is the highly irrational behaviour
Last week, I had dinner with a good friend. Amongst many other insanities, we discussed the resurgence of the mask infestation. He told me about his boss who, over lunch, sitting opposite him at a small table, with other colleagues around them, ate her food and conversed happily with her mask down the whole time. However as soon as the two of them got into her car to drive to a meeting on the other side of town, she immediately lifted her mask up to cover her mouth and nose.
“It’s almost as if being in a car with you alone was far too intimate,” I said, trying to understand. “She didn’t want to be that exposed, that naked, in your presence.”
When irrationality overrides logic (not to mention actual science) we have to note it, and we have to call it out. That is why I love the work of the writer I want to highlight today.
Shout out to Allan Stevo!
Allan Stevo writes Lockdown Land. Every day he shares a post from his book Face Masks Hurt Kids. He gives 181 scientific reasons as proof of his title and each post starts with this text:
Dear Reader,
The wearing of a face mask to protect against a respiratory virus is an act of grand deceit. It is a behavior that defies research on the topic. Wearing a face mask, as this article (one of many) points to — is unsafe to do and is ineffective.
Until the narrative around mandatory masking has changed, each day by 6am Eastern, I will both post here and send out a science-based reason why no one should wear a face mask.
I ask that you help me circulate these pieces to those around you who you believe could most benefit from them. It is important not to remain silent on this topic. These are important discussions to be having with friends, family members, business owners, healthcare practitioners, public servants, and others in the community.
Allan
He’s now gone through the book twice on his Substack and is currently on his third run.
Occasionally he writes about other topics too. For example, here is one about spicy stuff, but the bulk of his stack these last two years every day give us a plethora of scientifically sound reasons to throw away the masks.
Here are some of my favourites:
You Teach A Child That Reason Does Not Matter
Face Masks Did Not Work In 1918, 1957, 1968, 2002, 2004, And They Do Not Work Now
If Morality Is Being Argued By Bullies Rather Than Scientific Debate Being Had By Peers, You Know Something Is Wrong
The CDC Says Face Masks Do Not Work
The New England Journal Of Medicine Says Face Masks Do Not Work
You Teach Your Kids To Do Things They Do Not Like And Intuitively Know Are Not Only Uncomfortable, But BAD
Face Masks Are Another Way To Crush Their Spirit
Face Masks On Pregnant Women During Exertion Should Be Avoided To Protect The Unborn Child
The Flu Is More Dangerous Than Covid & Neither Of Them Are Stopped By Face Mask Wearing
I highly recommend subscribing to this 'stack (and/or buying his book) so that you too can be well-versed in all the reasons why mask-wearing is harmful to our society, and especially for the little ones.
I’ll end this shoutout to Mr Stevo with words of his I very much agree with:
I do not care much for mass movements. I do not care much for giant protests. I prefer the power of individual acts of courage.
Finally, and because it’s Valentine’s day, here’s a beautiful image from another 'stack I read, Kitten’s Secret Garden. I really liked the story too.
Sane friends, I’m sending you all love today and I hope we continue to sing and speak out against the mask pollution (both physical and psychic), the illogic, the irrationality, the wars worldwide, together with all the many wars against our sanity. And I hope we also continue to seek beauty and truth wherever we are. ❤️
Loved the RMJ vid!
Your observations and articulations (and collaborations) are such a breath of fresh air.... they are so sorely needed. Thank You! And thanks to RMJ for his subversive verses. XO
