Get Outside and Have Fun
Vitamin D, friends and giggles await you (and a short video to prove it!)
Another episode in the continuing series of “How to Stay Sane”
A couple of Sundays ago (Easter Sunday to be precise), instead of spending most of the day advancing on my ever-expanding to-do list, I decided to make the most of the lovely sunny day that the weather engineering gods had bestowed upon us, and went to check out the Bring Your Own Big Wheel Race up on Potrero Hill. All credit for that sensible decision goes to my boyfriend who makes it a point to take advantage of as much free or cheap fun that is offered in this silly, hilly city. (If you want to be like him — and I am striving to, at least in that regard — check out this site for inspiration).
Having lived in SF for so long, I am sad to say that this was the first Big Wheel Race I’d ever attended! After we got to the top of Vermont Hill soon after 3pm and I felt the excitement of what was to come, I was bummed that we’d dawdled and missed the children’s race which had started at 2pm and finished soon before we started ascending the hill.
(Anyone who knows me knows that I am mad for lil’ kiddiwinks feeling free, having fun and being their cute little selves.)
But the little kid energy was high amongst the adults! Oh, what wholesome fun… we cracked up at the costumes and took delight in all the adrenaline-induced smiles. I’m so glad I was there to witness this part of the race at least and capture enough footage of it to make a micro-fillum:
You can bet I’ll be there on time for the kids’ race next year!
Analogue Saturday happening this Saturday and um, also tomorrow
Speaking of having fun and being out in the sun, there are two Analogues taking place in the next few days (both days 12-5pm):
One is happening tomorrow for 4/20
One this Saturday (4/22/23) because it will be lovely and warm and my sister will be here from London….
Come say “hello!” There’ll be a bunch of us selling our wares and making music at the usual spot in the Mission!
(If you don’t know where that spot is, email me: sane francisco 415 at gmail…)
