Moving Through Piles of Nonsense with Agility and Focus
And, as always, finding sanity in the small things
Please forgive the radio silence, there has been so much happening on the local, national and world stage, as well as in my own life, I’ve had to stay focused on remaining grounded and staying sane within my personal sphere. Like you (I imagine), I’m absorbing it all, sometimes full on, sometimes tangentially but trying to take breaks from the relentless cycle of shocking and often ridiculous news. At some point you realize you can only deal with things that are right in front of you and let go of worrying about all that you cannot control. (Hasn’t that been the practice for us all these last 4.5 years especially?!)
Updates and news of transitions (not my gender) are coming from me soon, but in the meantime, please be inspired by this short video of a 9-year-old girl, Zhang Sixuan, who was named the 2024 World Shaolin Kung Fu Star, an incredible athlete.
(BTW, at 0’49”, that’s a metaphor for me at the mo’: praying sincerely with my whole self in a tangle).
Sending you all the strength, agility and flexibility to deal with whatever this insane world run by clowns throws at us next, and looking forward to sharing what’s been on my mind in the form of new creations soon.
Stay Sane, my friends!
Taking care of your sanity is a priority. I used to tell my actors “life before art” whenever survival prevented them from the creative process. Art tends to be more cathartic for others when it’s gotten the chance to incubate and not be in the throngs of catharsis itself. Looking forward to your incubated self, dear! 💓
Wow amazing video! Thanks for that - I've been ignoring the olympics for obvious reasons. But that was worth viewing!
