Insanity increases exponentially. While I pray that we won’t be hurtling into WW-III, this post contains an assortment of topics to snack on as we watch with apprehension how world events unfold. I hope you can indulge my mix-metaphors which I send in lieu of adding to the anxiety pile-on.
MYHA Walk + Dip! (Pumpkin & Sunflower Seeds)
Plant these healthy ideas into the heads of friends and family.
Who loves walking? I love walking, and I’m pretty sure you do too. Some of you might even like cold-plunging. In any case, I know you’re all tired of your devices and how they’re designed to make us feel. If you want a break to Make Yourself Healthy Again, join this event happening next Sunday in SF. Get in touch with Susie (californiacando@gmail.com) if you’d like more details, it is sure to be fun!
Join Sane Francisco (Raisins, Cranberries & Mango Slices)
Sunshine-touched fruit is sweetness born from resilience and heat… don’t we all need some of that sweetness? Friendships, relationships, collaborations and all types of human connection is the healthy sugar that keeps us sane. When I created Sane Francisco a few years ago, I immediately knew that the sun, provider of Vitamin D, had to be its symbol.
Yep, these juicy-fruity ingredients I listed are to remind you that you don’t have to be isolated and lonely in a society ruled by the parasite class that tries to keep us angry and divided. We have a growing community of people here in Sane Francisco who may not agree on every issue yet they have become friends and gather regularly to do any of the following:
share meals (healthy potlucks are usually our thing but we sometimes meet up in restaurants too)
watch movies and documentaries together to discuss afterwards (usually combined with aforementioned potlucks)
go walking barefoot on the beach or grass (aka grounding)
read books, both fiction and non-fiction, to later discuss over a cup of tea
attend talks and other events aimed at the intellectually curious
museum visits
music concerts and dancing 💃🕺
Analogue Saturdays: if you are a vendor, get in touch
If you’re not yet a member of Sane Francisco, do consider becoming a Sane Community member* and let me know what other types of events you’d like to see happening. For example, a Sane Dating event with a dating coach (a fellow Saner) is being planned for later this year. Still figuring out the details for that, but I can tell you it won’t be anything like this.
*Extra bonus: you get discounts on my freelancer rates if you ever need any creative or tech services.
Transcriber B Interview (Peanuts, Almonds & Cashews)
My Mum used to give me a handful of almonds every morning before school. She’d say “Eat these, they’re good for your memory.” It must be true because I have never forgotten her saying that to me.
Transcriber B also helps us to never forget
I had posted a few months ago about the first part of my interview with the excellent Transcriber B on the
Substack, but omitted (um, ok…I forgot) to share that Part 2 is now up there too:“Transcriber B might be the most important ‘Covid writer’ of us all ... because she is preserving the transcripts that will tell the true and human story of our tragic times.
That is, she might make it possible for future historians to get this story right.”
A Cameo in a Coraggio Video (Chocolate Chips)
Saving the most decadent ingredient for the end…
At the end of May I went to Santa Cruz to visit the brilliant
, a client of mine since last year, who quickly became a friend. The plan was that I would be teaching her some video tricks but of course we also had a ton of fun together. Here is a portion of our escapades which we recorded for one of her videos… enjoy!
Hey - I saw you on the video! Nice cameo! :-)
Enjoyed this drop, Ms Sane...
A great assortment of treats, SF! I haven’t been in Sannie Frannie in almost two decades, but I do hope I make it back there if for nothing else but to walk barefoot in your grass with you.
