Happy Valentine’s Day if you celebrate such events. Me, I’m not so inclined that way, but I do love love in all its forms and I feel that should be celebrated!
Pertaining to which, here is an hour-long conversation that fills me with joy and strength. I listened to it this morning whilst half-awake; what Mr Childers said in the last 5 minutes especially touched me in my rousing slumber. I’m listening to it again now whilst alert because I want to make sure I caught all the verbal gems. I hope that after listening to this dialogue — which is both grounded in facts and swirling in the spiritual realms — that you too feel inspired.
I list below a few choice quotes to whet your appetite. Nonetheless, I won’t ruin the fun. If you listen to the audio, you will hear the best sentences for yourself. (They are uttered at the very end.)
These kinds of sentences kinda turn me on.
Don’t they feel activating?
Do they get you going too?
“I do think that the possibility of a really beautiful world — harmonious, balanced world — is right here. It’s right in front of our noses now! If people just connected to their conscience…”
“That taught me to essentially love people regardless of their ideas.”
“Ten percent of highly motivated citizens can create significant social change.”
“I think there is still plenty of time to right the ship.”
“I am also an optimist…”
And this quote for all the new friends that I made in the last 2-3 years, to whom I send big love, especially today right as we start our new Sane adventures:
“That’s maybe one of the most fascinating things to come out of the pandemic is what I call ‘a great social realignment’… I had my group, and there was enough of them that occupied my life. But when the pandemic came, I found out that a lot of my core values — like bodily autonomy which is a big one for me — a lot of those people didn’t share those beliefs. And now I don’t really have social relationships with them anymore — I’m not saying they’re enemies — but they’ve been replaced with a lot of new people who I probably never would have consciously chosen before the pandemic. Because I would have just thought I had nothing in common with them. But instead I’ve discovered, I have some of the most important things in common with those people who, otherwise, I would never have considered a good match for me.”
Tessa is such a badass on multiple levels — she’s a person I got to know via FB after I added her to the Navy Blue Venn Diagram (I was constantly on the lookout for questioners and she was a particularly brilliant one). She has been relentless in fighting the insanity since Day 1. Also her description of her “politics” at the beginning of Our Times of Covid (at around 48 minutes) is identical to mine, which is not surprising given that we are both artists and musicians too. I am similarly impressed by Jeff Childers’ clarity and courage and now want to listen to him more! I love that his prescription is “local, local, local” (which aligns with my motto: “Think Local, Act Local” — totally our best bet, folks).
You should definitely subscribe to their ‘stacks if you haven’t already…
Thank you so much, your words filled me with joy!!!xoxoxo
Match made in heaven... ! Seriously two of my favorite sanity keepers ... can't wait to listen to this.
