The day after Memorial Day, here’s a reminder to never forget that it’s always our right as concerned citizens naturally curious human beings to ask questions, challenge ideas and remain skeptical about the narratives presented by numerous parties with vested interests.
Stay tuned — or skip ahead — right to the end, and you can enjoy some music and a cool video I made!
Who had questions? I had questions! (And still do…)
A little over 5 years ago — mid-March 2020 — like many of you reading this no doubt, a ton of questions started to weigh on my mind.
Audaciously, some would say “naïvely,” I even asked some of them on my personal Facebook profile.

Immediately the emojis arrived, a few of them angry, along with the chastising comments:

To the irate ones, I responded:
Similar reactions would occur every time I posted about Covid-19 (whether it was to do with death — which soon turned into case (!) — numbers, the harms and the inefficacy of the masks, or the fact that reality did not match at all what we were being sold oops, I mean told), and often accompanied with a snide enquiry about my right to inquire.
Hey, Jet Aime, are you an expert? Have you ever beeeeean inside a science lab?

No, but seriously, one time, just over a month into it, I posted a link which discussed a study which contained a bunch of data.
And that immediately generated a bunch of comments, including this one from one guy, which — I kid you not! — appeared within 5 seconds of my posting that link:
I was so stunned by his question — as if a science degree was required to read that article and discuss its contents! — that it took me over a minute to remember that yours truly aka moi, Jet Aime, I actually do have a science degree, and that BSc. came with an Hons. for the subsidiary subject of Mathematics. That scroll of paper had been awarded to me after cramming into my brain, over 2 weeks, 3 years worth of “knowledge.”
You guys, that fortnight before my exams was incredibly stressful, but finals are great for teaching one the skill of rote-learning.
So, being the hardcore lover of credentialism that I am, I tentatively raised my hand.
Psycho Killer, qu’est-ce que c’est?
Oh my, those first couple of months, it would be both nerve-wracking and kinda hilarious that, with every post I shared on the dreaded topic, I was asked by fellow FB-ers to specify what my intentions were for posting (um… just that you perhaps click the link and check out the findings or read the perspectives of… others? Especially of formerly well-respected experts who are now being silenced?). Still, many of my FB friends and acquaintances were presenting themselves as increasingly antagonistic. A few of them would seem to jump on my C-19 posts as soon as I posted, either to instantly discredit the author or the publication, or to try and shame me for being a very bad person. And, of course, this would encourage others to do the same. Mob mentality rules! It was so funny (not in a haha way), that after many years of being known as a recording artist whose extraterrestrial alter ego expressed her concern for suffering humans in her songs, an artist who was prone to questioning the topsy-turviness and illogic witnessed on our planet — a world where, for example, in some areas, people were starving, whilst in other parts, mountains of food were being thrown away — I was, all of sudden, shunned by many friends and considered to be a psychopath.
I began to feel like I was walking on eggshells each time I went to post anything that might question mainstream C-19 accounts. I wanted to ask questions, and perhaps even make others use their critical thinking1 skills too, but I had become exhausted by the constant and immediate pushback, the inability to have any form of rational conversation, and the hurtful suggestions by a few that I clearly had latent grandma-killer tendencies for not adhering to the narrative doubting what we were told.
Conversations With (my) Squad
So I decided it was better to have a conversation in private with three other questioning friends who were also on FB:
R, my SF-living Mexican friend, who also had zero fear of being in the same room as another human being during “lockdown”, a person like myself, who never voluntarily2 covered up his breathing apparatus with the ineffectual and harmful masks we were constantly being pressured to don. As many Sane friends of mine know, he was also the person responsible — boy, was he skilled3 in those first three weeks of Two Weeks to Flatten The Curve — for Waking Me Up™. And not just to Covid lies but to many other deceptions;
B, a British-Indian woman I’d gone to high school with, who still lived in London, someone I’d last seen when we were both sixteen;
E, a friend of B’s I’d never met, a mother of 4 who lived in Wales. She also happened to be of Indian origin.
We The People Were Beginning to Act Strangely
All four of us were skeptical of mainstream media’s constantly changing narratives, but more than anything we were becoming increasingly perplexed by the IRL and online behaviour of many people around us: our families and friends, our neighbours, our colleagues at work, people in grocery stores, people in the Post Office, people on the street.
We wanted to share our perspectives, data and, most of all, freely ask our questions without being shamed.
Groupthink vs. A Group That Is Encouraged To Think
I originally started a group chat in FB’s Messenger for the four of us but our many questions and responses would disappear up the chat thread the more we talked to each other, requiring one to scroll up, then down, then up; it quickly became tedious. Shortly into employing that frustrating method to communicate, I remembered that, for some of my musical collaborations I had created Facebook groups.
I really appreciated the format of FB Groups — how each post or question would remain its own separate entity, which could be commented upon directly, and not interfere nor get lost in the jumble of other people’s comments and responses. Plus FB Groups were so quick to create and easy to use.
After a couple of days of feeling annoyed by the need to constantly scroll up and down a tiny window in order to follow a simple conversation, I created a Facebook Group and added the four of us to it. I called our group The Navy Blue Venn Diagram after screenshotting an excellent meme that I’d found on a fellow questioner’s post. It became the group’s first cover photo.
Setting It Up Right
For the settings, I made sure that the group was Hidden, which meant that if you searched for it on FB, you wouldn’t find it unless you were a member. And I also made the group Closed, which meant you could only be added by a group member.
Paging Numbers 5 and 6
I soon added M, a black friend who lived in the East Bay. We knew each other from soon after I’d moved to San Francisco, but I hadn’t seen him in perhaps 15 years. I noticed he’d posted a meme that was mocking mask use, found his number, and immediately called to ask,“Hey, M… I know it’s been a long time, but, um… what do you think about this Pandemic business?” His answers immediately satisfied me that he should be #5 in the NBVD.
C, a Mexican friend of R’s, a smart and lovely woman who lived in the North Bay became #6. After conversing with me on a Messenger chat, she told R that we absolutely had to come over for dinner that weekend, that we needed to talk in person. So now R and I had another non-Covidian friend to hang out with besides each other.
Das Racist?
Why did I mention our nationalities and ethnic origins? Because soon, questioning people like us, no matter our skin colour, would come to be labeled by any fool who had swallowed all the NPR/NYT/CNN talking points as “White Supremacists,” amongst other epithets.
Yes, my friends… all 6 of us were now apparently far-right, “Q-Anon”4, grandma-killing, psychopathic, white supremacists… except we didn’t know it.
“Well, clearly you’ve internalized your own oppression…”
In the Navy!
And so it would continue, the six of us would add all their critically-thinking friends, and then those newbies would do the same. I would also keep a lookout for anyone within my own FB network: anyone who was asking questions about the lockdowns, the social distancing, the masks, the origins of the virus, etc. Anyone who posted a subversive meme. I’d send them a private message, asking what they made of what was going on. If there was the slightest hint of “this is all clearly BS,” or if they shared an insight I’d never heard before, I would tell them I had created a group for questioners and add them to The Navy.
In this way, the Navy Blue Venn Diagram kept growing. At its height we had around 6805 people in there from all around the world (the U.S., Mexico, the U.K., Canada, Australia, India, Ireland, Spain, France, Germany, and many other countries).
Shades of Beige & Age
Navers were from every demographic. We were all ages, every colour, and all professions. There were a few artists and musicians6 like myself, as well as journalists, writers, researchers, historians, dancers, dance teachers, small. business owners, teachers, housewives, grandmothers, grandfathers, retirees, scientists, statisticians, doctors and professors. No doubt I’m missing a few significant occupations there but the point is we were a most varied bunch.
Every day and into the night, new research and studies were posted, articles by — and interviews with — dissenting scientists and doctors were shared. The many insights of NBVD members were illuminating to read. Dang, it was a smart group!
Pick Me! Pick Meme!
People posted countless memes, of course, and the laughter was therapeutic. Constantly changing mainstream media narratives, often reversing the health advice of the week before, were the most fun to mock.
Them’s The Rules
After a couple of months, with the NBVD growing at a rapid rate and now headed into the 200s, the four original members needed help, so I asked a few other Navy stalwarts to become co-moderators. We came up with these rules:
By joining this group, it is assumed you agree to the NBVD’s GUIDELINES, listed below. Please refrain from:
Using inflammatory violent language intended to provoke the same in others. All dissident groups are being monitored by authorities and we do not want to give them any excuse to shut us down.
Attacking or belittling someone’s religious, political, or ethical points of view. Remember that for this particular mission, we are all on the same side.
Detracting from the spirit of common cause and cooperation around the group’s stated purpose. We can agree constructively, and disagree with civility when necessary.
Indiscriminately inviting anyone and everyone to the group. Since we are building a purposeful community of active and respectful contributors, we ask that you be selective so that we can maintain a high-quality conversation.
Sharing private information from this group (eg. screenshots of private/group discussions, tactics/strategy, contact information). Please be aware that not everyone is able to share their views publicly. In general, please be very careful about sharing any compromising information. We have not vetted/are not able to vet each and every person in this group. Better to assume that there are infiltrators in here for everyone’s safety. We will be deleting any posts which might compromise the safety of members or allies. Thanks for understanding
Thanks so much for joining the Navy Blue Venn Diagram; by working together we aim to flatten the curve on hysteria and make common sense go viral.
The Cabinet
As time went on, with many more people being added, and with some of them behaving in ways that were not so pleasant — oh, the joy of online groups! — I decided to create another (hidden and closed) FB Group. The Cabinet was for the moderators to discuss issues such as, “how do we avoid alerting FB to this group”7 or “Is this person causing too much ruckus and should they be ousted?”
All for One and One for All!
But one thing we would do, the thing that I thought was the absolute best thing about The Navy was that we would give each other moral and intellectual support out there in the wild of our personal FB feeds. As I mentioned above, questioning posts of mine prior to the NBVD forming were always pounced upon; within seconds I would have irate or indignant comments and I would often feel too intimidated to respond. A few months into the NBVD forming, and that changed.
I would write in an NBVD post:
Navers, heads up… I’m about to post this article/link/study on my personal page and I want your likes and comments pronto!
And lo, my dear Navers would jump on that post immediately, with their thumbs-ups emojis and hearts, followed up by intelligent comments discussing the findings, and corroborating with more studies. The poor Covidians, with their stock responses, insults, and source-shaming, stood no chance against our social algorithm. And all of this was being witnessed by the lurkers, those who watched but never interacted. Seeds of doubt were no doubt being planted. Afterwards, I would receive DMs from previously quiet friends who’d say things like, “I do think there is something weird going on,” and I’d say “well, if it’s any consolation you’re not the only one…” and then I’d add them to The Navy.
Seriously, I cannot tell you how great it felt to turn the tables. Us Navers had all our numbers and statistics at the ready and we were polite to boot; we were rational and full of information; we reminded people of the scientific method and we assuaged fears; and we, at least on the specific ships (aka FB posts) we were summoned to by each post’s captain, quickly outnumbered those who blindly accepted whatever lies “facts” they had digested.
Man, we ruled those information seas!
Hooyah!
Our greatest battle was one time in January 2021, when R (NBVD#2) and I went head to head with a local Rockefeller doctor-influencer (someone we both knew in person) to counter her insane propaganda on the necessity to vax up. Many valiant Navers descended upon her post to add info and further corroborate our arguments. That post was overwhelming for her — she could not respond intelligently to any of the facts we presented — so her only choice was to block all of us!
BTW, that particular incident, crowned by the hilariously condescending email she sent me afterwards, explaining to me why she had no choice but to bar me from her page for my dangerous “disinformation” will one day get its own post.
Help! I Need Somebody!
The NBVD became an emotional support group for many (myself included), with new members, soon after joining, often posting statements of the type:
“Thank goodness [ name of person ] added me! I have nobody else to talk to about all the insanity.”
Speaking for myself, I made some brilliant friends as a result of that group. Some of them I have never met and may never meet, but I still feel very close to them and we still talk, though these days of other matters of geopolitical concern.
And I think many others who were part of The Navy would say the same.
Illicit In-Person Meet-ups
Then there were about 15-20 of us who started meeting up regularly in the summer of 2020. Remember, here in the Bay Area, at that time we were still being told we had to lockdown, socially distance, and not mix with people outside of our “bubbles,” and to keep on wearing those muzzles (ugh), so it all had to be done covertly. Our IRL NBVD crew would meet for many Saturdays, at the home of a Naver8 in the East Bay with a roof terrace, wearing lots of layers to counter the evening chill, and bringing snacks and drinks, potluck style-y.
Some of you who attended those meet-ups are reading this now. Hello!
Another Moniker Manifests…
However, at the end of 2020, I decided I couldn’t deal anymore with the constant pillorying on my personal profile, so I stopped using my Jet Aime9 FB account and created another one that was only connected to questioning friends/critical thinkers. I called that profile Jonav Art10 and made myself an admin for The Cabinet.
And The Numbers Were Still Growing…
Due to the looming vax mandates, the censorship on FB was getting so bad, some of us began to wonder if we should move to another platform.
You Have Been Warned
For sure we were not the only group on FB (or other social media platforms) which discussed the dreaded virus, pandemic, mandates and all the concomitant issues, but at a certain point, around the time that vaccines were appearing on the scene, we were hearing of other groups being disabled. Ours appeared to be lasting a lot longer than most groups, maybe because of its name but also because we employed some tricks to hide our content from the body of the main post.
This Is The End
However, one day in June 2021, I woke up to messages from a couple of NBVD members. It had finally happened to us: the NBVD was no longer there. Well at least it wasn’t for anyone but me, its creator.
It had not been deleted, just disabled. Which meant that I could still see it and all the contents but nobody else could. We had been expecting it but it was still a blow.
I wrote in The Cabinet:
What Happened After Being Disabled?
The Navy Blue Venn Diagram overlapped, in real life, and then transformed into a freedom cell called Team Sanity (January 2021) which, due to its constant growth, was eventually opened up to a much larger group called Sane Francisco (April 2021).11
And Where Is The NBVD Today?
Funnily enough, a few weeks ago, E, aka #4 messaged me, saying:
Well, as I started to write this post, I went looking over on FB thinking I would get some cool memes from the NBVD, check on the final number of people we had in it, and share some memes and screenshots of funny comments. But the NBVD is gone. It has vanished into thin air.
I am not often on Facebook so I don’t know when it was taken down but all the NBVD contents have completely disappeared.
How ironic considering that Mark Zuckerberg sincerely (ell oh ell) apologized for censoring Covid content last year, a couple of months before the US presidential election. I wonder if he told his team to go in and do a final clean sweep after that.
Theme Song & Video
In any case, no project of mine could not ever have its own soundtrack12 and accompanying video, so please enjoy!
I’ve posted this video before but this is the 2025 version with a few tiny tweaks!
I guess if I hadn’t created the most perfect track for it already, 3 years in advance, I would have chosen this catchy tune.
I guess we were indeed a village for over a year.
Quelle team:
Go, The Navy!
Go, Navers!
Go, Team Sanity!
Go, Saners!
Go, all of you reading who know what’s up.
Wish I was a cheerleader and wish I had an NBVD T-shirt to sell you, but I am doing so many things all the time, and it’s not easy to get all my acts together. But soon one of these days, I swear I’ll become a merch queen too. Tell me, would you buy an NBVD T-shirt if I made one? Wouldn’t you like this most elegant Venn Diagram13 on your chest?
I always wondered: does CT stand for Conspiracy Theorist or Critical Thinker or both?
There were many situations in SF where one had to make a judgement call and weigh up whether it was worth it to fight or not.
He never made me feel ignorant for my ignorance, he answered all of my questions, at least the ones he knew the answers to, and best of all, he had no shame in saying “I don’t know” or “I’m not sure.”
Personally speaking, I had absolutely no idea what that even was, for maybe at least another 3 months.
Or was it 780?
Yay to the Jazz Guys, the four of whom were added one day in May 2020. All long-standing “conspiracy theorists,” well-seasoned in psy-oppery, they had been watching the rise of the technocratic state with alarm for years, and were barely surprised when the “Pandemic” hit. I made 3 of them moderators.
I am sure our enigmatic-sounding name helped a lot.
She also happened to be a black woman with no idea she was a white supremacist!
I’ve started using that profile again for non-contentious posts, so feel free to add me if you’re on FB.
If you geddit, you geddit.
And that, my friends, is a story to tell on another day! It involves loo roll too.
This track was written in 2018 and released in 2019 with my third album. It referred to something else but it worked so well for the Covidian phenomenon.
BTW, soon after I made the graphic, somebody pointed out to me that there was a pentagram in the middle of it. “Yeah, ‘cos there are 5 circles! What do you expect?”, I replied indignantly. I had no clue about any of the Satanic stuff at that point. But it might explain why some people later wondered if I was controlled opposition.
I remember the NBVD well. It kept me sane during those horrible times, knowing I was not completely alone. Thanks to some of the posts on NBVD I then discovered Substack and the critical minds on here.
Thank you for giving us that space.
This was the intro i used for posting this Sane Francisco post in my Substack newsletter, Lockdown Times, just now.
A note from a friend i had not heard from in a long while drew me to her latest Substack posting, She goes by “Sane Francisco,” the title of her Substack. She is a woman who was born and raised in the UK, or Indian ancestry, an artist with a background in math, which she has a college degree in. She created a Facebook group in Spring 2020, Navy Blue Venn Diagram (the Venn Diagram is a graphic used in statistics). It brought together people from all sorts of backgrounds whose common factor was opposition to the insane Lockdowns and other countermeasures adopted in response to what we now know as the “COVID” Psyop. It was the first opposition group i participated in, aside from a list of about a dozen activists from Berkeley and vicinity who were questioning the official narrative. And it provided important informational and even emotional support in a trying time. I participated in it extensively, took part in several group gatherings we had at a member’s place in Oakland, hanging out together without following directive for such gatherings. Sure made me question what we were all being told. Looking back at it now, our general group consensus appears so limited. But at the time, that’s what there was. Unfortunately, i still see lots of people who are in May 2025 STILL falling for the Psyop, still wearing masks in the outdoors. These include a dismayingly large number of leftists and even far leftists/anarchists, such as the Ecology Center employs who wears an IWW t-shirt as well as a mask, probably reflecting the perspective of IWW. I am disturbed that so many who were in NBVD are still stuck in the core part of the Psyop, the "Pandemic"/"COVID-19"/"SARS-Cov-2” fraud narrative, because they are still pushing disinformation which furthers the bigger Psyop, the one whose aim is to herd us all into the 4IR. But i appreciate what we had in 2020-21. We are alll pressured via one way or another to enter the Blockchain-based AI-managed Crypto-financed global digital prison. We are to be rendered into digitally disembodied beings, more AI than human, subjects of non-stop surveillance and social impact investing. RESIST, do not go along! I HIGHLY recommend reading this post and her blog in general. Here, she tells the story in a manner which amounts to a world of art.
