Thank. You! Very cool stuff. Love the mixing mediums thing.

Hard to improve on the brilliance of AR Rahman & the Nooran Sisters but I think they would even enjoy his mashup. I got a soft spot for the original though:

I don't feel any Schadenfreude, if this makes sense, but I laughed a lot to watch these. The heavy metal's not my thing but I thought that was very apt, very original. (The people filming their own meltdowns, they seem to me to have allowed a part of their souls to wander outside their bodies.)

Agree 100% on the souls outside their bodies. I think that's what tech intends, actually: to dis-integrate us.

Concur with you both...

Yeah, brilliant (af) is the right word for that. Thanks for sharing!

I'm not a metal fan, but this is awesome. It's like a metal version of what The Kiffness does, e.g., this recent one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BrCvZmSnKA

Or Hannah Hoffman: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2lTIh536jY

Haha, I just talked about The Kiffness but couldn't remember their name. Thinking alike, Mark!

You'll see in my first comment, I critique this video of The Kiffness. I have a draft on Haiti that just has this link I've meant to respond to: https://petequinones.substack.com/p/the-history-of-haiti-and-now-its. Haitians eating pets in Springfield is as staged as the fake assassination attempt. For all of Trump disparaging childless cat ladies of the left, he knows that the right also prefers pets to people. I think I read that the Dominican Republic was deporting 10,000 Haitians a day back over that imaginary border where they imprison them for the crime of not paying their slave price after they rebelled.

Hannah Hoffman is brilliant! I never heard this clip of Biden. It certainly demonstrates that his dementia was well known by the PTB before the last election and Trump's loss was engineered--with his full knowledge and consent, I'm certain. And waiting until after the primaries to suddenly say, "Woah, who knew?" is just another chess move and the Trumpers are as much pawns in this game as the Kamalites. IMO.

Thanks for the link, Tereza. I started watching that Haiti video before our phone call (did not know the half of it). Will continue soon...

I should add that I love the rhythmic complexity of the "Why are you closed" video! This guy is a great musician. Also check out his metal compilations of classical composers' famous themes; pretty wonderful stuff.

Reminds me of the David Byrne/Brian Eno album “My Life in the Bush of Ghosts” from 1981. Check out “The Jezebel Spirit.”

Priceless! The first reminds me of the guy who puts his cat and dog vocalizations to music with lyrics, but since he did the anti-Haitian "They're eating the dogs" that went viral, I have less affection for him. Great point about setting up your camera before having an emotional outburst. Definitely brings the spontaneity into question. Love the singers from the place where you were made, Neshma ;-)

I didn't see the Kiffness video about eating the cats as anti-Haitian. It seemed to me that he was gently poking fun at Trump and the controversy around his statement. I may need to rethink that.

Expand full comment

Oh definitely not. He takes this psyop very seriously, as evidenced by his finger-wagging and throwing the list of other things to eat at the camera. These are dirty, uncouth barbarians who choose to eat pets as a dietary preference. And then you have the bleeding heart liberals saying, "You've driven them to this, because they're so poor!"

And in the meantime, you have some actors and some staged cooking events. I'm sure it gained him millions of voters.

Including those taken in is my friend Pasheen of Diva Drops, cat lady extraordinaire. She's written a lot about these awful acts, and she doesn't mean that literally, as I do. And my dance teacher plays it all the time, and she knows Haitians! And we do Haitian voodoo dance! But then she was taken in by the Ukraine psyop too and did a fundraiser ... for the pets of Ukraine, of course.
